If I’m being honest, Thanksgiving is an underrated holiday. Most people over look it with a post of a plate. People in general just skip the month of November and have two Decembers. I admit, I was that person for a couple years who skipped Thanksgiving. However recently, I have regained my dignity. Sure maybe the Americans didn’t exactly claim America in a decent manner, but most people wouldn’t pass a day to totally pig out…or should I say turkey out??! Please don’t egg my house, I hate myself, too. How does one skip Thanksgiving? There are plenty of things Thanksgiving has to offer.
This is a given. You can’t not love food. I mean there will be foods you don’t like, but hate to break it to you, you kinda need food to live. Theres the classic meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry jello stuff, and etc. Of course you customize your own meal. There’s tofu for the vegetarians, cheese in the potatoes for those dairy lovers, even chocolate pie for the pumpkin haters. Either way, Thanksgiving is a day where you can eat only carbs and no one can judge you, at least they shouldn’t. You can have seconds without being judged, thirds too, and fifteenths if your feeling it. Thanksgiving is a day to eat and not workout without guilt.
- The Macy’s Day Parade
Sure I may not know the time or channel the parade is on, but I sure do enjoy it. I bundle myself in blankets like a burrito and have hot tea or coco. It’s a nice way to wake up. I love seeing the huge balloons. Only complaint is that the news people talk to much, but other than that its great. There are so man people in it, and I wonder how they go on without freezing. Before I die, I want to go to New York in person and see the parade. In general, I want to go to New York.
- Giving Thanks
This ones a given. It’s in the name Thanksgiving. There is so much in life to be thankful for: family, friends, food. There is so much in the world that we take for granted. Thanksgiving is a time where I truly realize all the blessings I’ve had in my life, and I still don’t see them all. My family may not be the richest, but I’m somehow still spoiled(in a healthy way). There’s been up and downs in my life, and I’m thankful for them. They’ve shaped me into the person I am today. I honestly could go on and list every single thing we should all be thankful for, but I assume you can already know. I hope you do know.
So in conclusion, How to Do Thanksgiving Right?
Don’t skip it.
So thats my advice on Thanksgiving. It’s not my favorite holiday, but it sure beats Valentines Day. I mean come on love or food…food. Anyway, I’ve got some turkey to eat. Thank you so much for reading, feel free to follow my blog and my social media!
